ISBR Civic Engagement Event

May 9 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

ISBR Civic Engagement Forum

ISBR is hosting a civic engagement event on May 9, Saturday 2:30 to 4:30 pm.

The purpose of this event is to educate our local Muslim community on:

1. How to get active in local and state activities that directly affect Muslims
2. How to contribute time and expertise to your community
3. Project a positive image of the Muslim community to the larger society
4. How the youth can get involved

We will have a Guest Speaker, Brother Jimmy Small of the Muslim League of Voters, speaking at this event. He is a founder of the Muslim Voices for Progress, has served in public capacities for decades, and his organization NJMVP “…is a coalition-based organization that aims to integrate Muslims into the social, political, and religious fabric of New Jersey. NJMVP has over 100 Muslim organizations in their coalition for unity and establishing an NJ Muslim voice in local and national elections.”

Please RSVP to this event using the link provided below.

A focus on youth (high school and college), first-time voters/U.S. citizens, and those interested in participating more within their community but need some guidance on how best to do it, should attend.

We are also inviting members of other communities from around Somerset and Union Counties, and masjids within the area close to us, to participate and share their knowledge and experiences with the ISBR community.

Jazakallah- Khair
